Air Force Family

We were touring some aircraft when I was asked to take a few photos.  These are what I shot while out there.  Can I just say that I LOVE my new lens??!!

Butterfly House in Okinawa

For some reason the butterflies loved the FAKE flowers.

This was the ONLY butterfly she got to land on her. She chased them for a half hour TRYING to get one to land on her. :)

Oh My Gosh! I Won A Prize In A Photo Contest

Here is the photo that won me a prize in an Okinawa photo contest.  It is my son and some very nice locals. T was 5 at the time and very talkative. He pretty much just went up to these guys at the beach and started chatting and showing them "tricks" he could do in the water.  They asked me to take a photo for them with their camera and they put their sunglasses on T.  So I asked if I could also take a photo with my camera. And that is how this photo came about. :)

Photo Class & My New Skillz

I was fortunate enough to be able to take a photography class this past weekend. I learned so much about aperture, shutter speed & ISO. :)  So now I am in practice mode. Here are a few shots I have taken since the class.  They're not perfect, but I'm getting there. :)

Thanks for checking me out!

Just Playing Around

B was inside on a rainy day just watching some Spongebob. So I got down on the floor with her and just decided to see if I could get some fun photos to edit. You see I have been bored and with no sunny days, we haven't had any outings.  No outings means no photos.  So here is what I got from just playing around.  And B decided Leia needed to wear her Princess Ariel necklace, so of course I had to get a photo of that. Leia was NOT amused. :)

Another Beautiful Day in Okinawa

Christmas break has been less than stellar so far.  My husband is deployed, pretty much everyone we know has had the flu and then the rain, oh the stinking rain we have had.  The kids and I have been lonely and cooped up in the house since school got out, but today we finally caught a glimpse of sunshine. So we headed out to Araha Beach & Shipwreck Park. The kids ran and played while I captured every moment with my extra appendage.  The day was perfect except when T got a nasty scrape.  But he made a speedy recovery. Hopefully tomorrow will be just as fun.
